We want to give a heartfelt shout-out to Ms. Richardson, our incredible District Mental Health Coordinator! 💙
Ms. Richardson goes above and beyond to support the emotional well-being of our students and staff. Her compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment help create a safe and supportive learning environment across the district. Whether she's leading mental health initiatives, providing resources, or simply lending a listening ear, her impact is powerful and deeply appreciated.
Thank you, Ms. Richardson, for being a pillar of strength and support in our school community. We are so grateful for all that you do! 👏💐 #MentalHealthMatters #ThankYouMsRichardson #SupportAndStrength

We are proud to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month by shining a light on the importance of emotional well-being. Today, our students are wearing mood color shirts to represent different feelings and remind each other that it’s okay to not be okay.
Each color tells a story—yellow: happy, blue: calm, green: peaceful, black: stress, red: excited, and purple: creative. The colors open the door to conversations about how we feel and how we can support one another.
Together, we are building a community that values kindness, empathy, and mental wellness. Let's continue to create safe spaces where every student feels seen, heard, and supported.

🌟 Mental Health Awareness Day! 🌟
At George P. Austin Junior High School, we're proud to support Mental Health Awareness! 💚
Students are invited to join us by wearing a top that represents their current mood on Tuesday, May 13th! Whether you're feeling joyful, calm, strong, or even a little cloudy — let your shirt speak for you.
🧠💬 It's a fun and meaningful way to show that all feelings are valid, and mental health matters.
🔹 Please remember to wear your school uniform pants with your mood-color top.
Let’s continue to break the stigma and show support for ourselves and each other. #MentalHealthAwareness #GPAJHSStrong #MindfulMonday #EveryMoodMatters

Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!
Today, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible team that keeps our school thriving. Each of them bring something unique, powerful, and deeply valuable to our students and our school community.
As a small token of my appreciation, I’ve gifted each of them a shirt tailored to their role—because every position matters, and every person makes a difference. Whether they're in the classroom, the office, the halls, or behind the scenes—they are seen, they are valued, and they are appreciated.
I’m proud to lead this amazing team!
Let’s continue to make this school year unforgettable—together.
With gratitude,
Principal TStarks

And a special shout-out for the air fryer! I'm pretty sure this means you all expect me to start serving up gourmet snacks during staff meetings.
